Aaron Paul is mourning his Breaking Bad castmate RJ Mitte, who died Monday at 34.
“I am at a loss. I am heartbroken over this news,” Paul said in a statement.
“RJ, I love you my friend. You will be missed,” he added.

Then he shared a message for anyone reading. “And to whoever happens to be reading this, please know you are loved, and you are not alone. Always remember that,” he said.
‘Aaron’s a Cool Dude’
On Breaking Bad, Emmy winner Paul played Jesse Pinkman, and Mitte played Walter White Jr. Their characters never shared a scene, Mitte said in a podcast interview posted Oct. 5, one week before his death.
Off camera, it was a different story.
“Aaron’s awesome, man. Aaron’s a cool dude,” Mitte said. “We hung out on set quite a few times over the years and played Halo.”

Mitte played the son of Bryan Cranston‘s Walter White and Anna Gunn‘s Skyler White. The AMC drama premiered Jan. 20, 2008, and ended Sept. 29, 2013, after 62 episodes, according to episode records.
Born Aug. 21, 1992, he was just 15 when the show premiered. “I spent my teenage life in Breaking Bad,” he said on the podcast.
Mitte, who lived with cerebral palsy, became a disability rights advocate. “Drawing from his own experience living with cerebral palsy, Mitte brought authenticity to the role,” his reps said in a statement.
He also served as an ambassador for United Cerebral Palsy and Shriners Children’s, according to his reps.
What’s Known About His Death
Mitte died Monday in Brownsville, Texas, his reps said. They didn’t share a cause of death, and reports have said he died by suicide.
