Brandi Glanville is mourning a devastating family loss as she continues to navigate her own ongoing health struggles.
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum, 53, announced on Saturday, Oct. 10, that her father, Guy Glanville, had died. He was 77.
“My dad died, I’m gutted I hate this life right now,” Brandi wrote on X, adding a broken heart emoji.
Glanville did not share additional details about her father’s death, and his cause of death has not been publicly announced.
The loss comes months after Glanville revealed that her father had been hospitalized in a cardiac unit for nearly two weeks. In a May 25 post on X, she shared that he had been in the hospital for 13 days and asked followers to pray for him.
“Been completely off the grid,” she wrote at the time, according to Entertainment Weekly, adding that she and her father were both “medical mysteries.”
Glanville has also been dealing with a prolonged health battle of her own. The reality star has spent years searching for answers to a mysterious condition that she says has affected her face and neck. She has described symptoms including facial changes and painful lumps, and has spoken publicly about the frustration of undergoing treatments without finding lasting relief.
Earlier in October, Glanville revealed on her Unfiltered podcast that she was preparing for exploratory surgery as she continued seeking answers about her condition.
The timing of her father’s death adds another difficult chapter to an already challenging period for the reality star.
Glanville and her father had a complicated relationship over the years. The two appeared together on Marriage Boot Camp: Reality Stars Family Edition in 2018, where they discussed their strained relationship. Although they initially left the experience on good terms, Glanville later said they stopped speaking again after the show aired. Their relationship eventually improved, and Guy publicly defended his daughter amid her conflicts with fellow reality stars.
Following Glanville’s announcement, former Real Housewives of New York City star Sonja Morgan offered her support, writing, “So sorry you are going through this Brandi. Sending love and strength.”
Glanville has not shared further details about her father’s passing. As she grieves, messages of support from friends and fans continue to arrive.
