Mumbai Indians fans miffed with high pricing for IPL 2026 tickets at Wankhede Stadium

The tickets for Mumbai Indians’ (MI) home games for phase 1 of IPL 2026 have gone on sale on Thursday and the fans aren’t one bit happy with the prices. On Wednesday, the five-time champions announced that tickets for the first few home games scheduled to held at the iconic Wankhede Stadium will on sale in four phases starting from March 19. However, instead of the usual excitement from a loyal MI fan-base, there was significant anger once the sale of tickets began, particularly due to the pricing.

MI fans unhappy with IPL 2026 tickets price at Wankhede

As per IPL 2026 official ticketing partner BookMyShow’s website and mobile applications, the tickets for MI’s tournament opener against KKR on April 29 at the Wankhede Stadium has ticket prices starting from Rs 2800. While this category has already been sold out in phase 1 at the time of publishing this copy, the prices for the rest of the stands are Rs 4500, Rs 5500, Rs 5900, Rs 6950, Rs 11500 and Rs 25000. A single ticket in the Sachin Tendulkar stand, which offers a clear view of the game, is priced at over Rs 5000, something which fans find unacceptable.

One fan took to social media platform X to highlight how the prices for tickets for IPL games at the Wankhede Stadium have increased by a huge margin in the gap of just one year. As per the user, the cheapest price category for tickets at the venue in IPL 2025 started from Rs 1100 and ranged between Rs 2500 to Rs 4500. However, this year, the prices start from Rs 2800 and go all the way up till Rs 5900 (in the cheapest category). A lot of users complained about the exorbitant prices on social media platform X, with many even declaring that they wouldn’t visit the Wankhede Stadium any longer.

The last MI vs RCB game I watched in wankhede was wayyyyy back in 2013 when MI and MCA cared about fans and kept straight view ticket prices around 1-1.5 K. There is a reason why it has taken 13 years for me to witness these two teams again. And we all know what.Respect the…
