2000s Heavy Metal Band Aims for ‘Suspended Illusion’ on Its 20th Anniversary Tour

Five Finger Death Punch is gearing up for a jam-packed 2026, highlighted by their highly anticipated North America Tour, celebrating its 20th anniversary.

Behind the scenes of the preparations, guitarist Zoltan Bathory opened up about the journey and plans the band has in store for fans for the upcoming tour.

During his guest appearance on Loudwire Nights, he spoke about how Five Finger Death Punch wanted to deliver the biggest and most spectacular show they have ever had because celebrating two decades as a group is more than a milestone.

"The trajectory was always how big the show can be, how far can we push the production...how much are we going to piss off our accountants and everyone else because we're going to spend all the money on production?" the band member said.

Moreover, Bathory also mentioned giving fans a memorable event, not just through their performance but also through the whole vibe of the tour.

According to him, they wanted to create an unforgettable live experience for fans as a way to show them gratitude for decades-long support.

“I want to make sure that this is a suspended illusion,” he shared. “I can remove you as the audience from your daily life and create something that you're going to be in awe of and not for a second will I break the illusion."

Earlier this month, the five-member heavy metal band officially announced the first leg of their North America tour running in the third quarter of the year.

Five Finger Death Punch is hitting the road for a string of performances starting in July until October, covering major states like New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Ohio, California, Ontario, Quebec and more.

Joining them is the platinum-certified outlaw country musician Cody Jinks on selected dates.

In addition to the exciting tour, the five-member band knew exactly how to tease the fans.

Bathory mentioned in the same interview that they are also planning to release a new album, which will be their 10th studio album.

"We are right now in the midst of recording a new album," he told host Chuck Armstrong. "There's going to be even numbers. America is 250 years old. This is our 20th anniversary of the band, which is pretty insane if you ask me, and it's going to be the 10th record."

With their back-to-back projects this year, from their 20th anniversary on the horizon and an upcoming 10th studio album, Five Finger Death Punch shows no signs of slowing down.

Fans can expect the band to deliver both a spectacular tour and new music that continues to define their legacy in heavy metal.
