2026 Ivy League Dual Meet Showdowns: Five Teams Remain Undefeated

By Madeline Folsom on SwimSwam

It is officially 2026, and there are just a few weeks left of the Ivy League Dual Meet Tournament, with the final meets racing at the end of this month. Five teams are currently undefeated and it all seems like it will come down to the annual H-Y-P meet at the end of this month.

There have been a few weeks of meets since our last recap with Harvard racing Columbia and Princeton taking on Cornell and Penn at the end of November. The Princeton and Columbia women used the Big Al Invitational results to determine their dual meet at the beginning of December. Finally, last weekend, the Harvard and Brown men raced and Yale, Penn, and Dartmouth raced a tri meet.

At the end of November, the Harvard teams both took down Columbia, with both teams moving to 4-0 in the conference while Columbia dropped to 0-3 and 1-3 in the women’s and men’s Ivy standings respectively

    Meet Highlights

The Harvard women took the top three spots in both diving events with Nina Janmyr breaking the pool and school record on the 1-meter in 334.34. In the pool, the women had the fastest times in every event except the women’s 50 freestyle which went to Columbia’s Sally Ma. The Harvard men won all but two swimming events. The 200 free, which went to Adam Wu from Columbia, and the 400 IM, which was won by Gian Santos.

The same weekend, Princeton took on Cornell and Penn, with both the men’s and women’s teams sweeping the meet to remain undefeated in the conference. The Penn women beat Cornell, while the Cornell men beat Penn for the first time in 10 years.

    Meet Highlights

Princeton: Eleanor Sun won three events (100 breast — 1:02.82, 200 back — 1:57.23, and 200 IM — 1:58.34) Princeton: Diver Aidan Want won both diving events for the men. Princeton: Michael Schott won the 1000 free (8:55.69) and 100 fly (47.15) Cornell: Men won three events with Pietro Ubertalli (200 free — 1:37.03), Blake Conway (100 back — 48.01), and Joseph Gurski (100 fly — 47.05) Penn: Kayla Fu won three events for women, taking the 50 free (22.70), 100 free (49.17), and 100 fly (53.29) Penn: Anna Moehn won both distance events for the Quaker, swimming 9:42.21 in the 1000 and 4:46.19 in the 500. Penn: Matt Fallon won three events, the 100 breast (52.84), 200 breast (1:54.89), and the 200 IM (1:49.15)

The Princeton and Columbia women are not swimming an isolated dual meet this year, and chose to use the Big Al Invitational results to decide their meet. Princeton came out on top and Columbia fell to 0 – 4 in the conference.
