Noah’s Star-Studded Homecoming (BN Exclusive), Angel’s Revenge, Jordan Hawkins’ ‘Second Draft,’ and Other Bulls Bullets

As the Chicago Bulls’ 1-1 preseason hits the road for a Sunday clash with Nikola Jokic and co., two All-Star Chicago hoops alums (for the Bulls and Sky) are making headlines.

Behold: our latest Bulls Bullets!

    Bulls Bullets — October 10, 2026

Former two-time All-Star and 2014 Defensive Player of the Year Bulls center Joakim Noah wrapped up the first season of his must-watch NBA Take Two Media travel show NOMAD with a special half-hour finale. The All-NBA honoree made a splashy return to his French Open-winning father Yannick’s native France. Noah himself lived there as a kid, from 1988-98, before opting to carve out his own identity in Manhattan as a 13-year-old. In the episode, Joakim chops it up with Yannick, the French national basketball team, four-time NBA champion and Hall of Fame point guard Tony Parker, and more. Throughout the episode (well worth a watch in full), the jet-setting Joakim Noah visits the French Open, Levallois Sporting Club, the PSG Champions League Final, and several Parisian hotspots.

“Being able to shoot an episode of NOMAD in France was very personal to me,” Noah reflected in a statement to Bleacher Nation. “There were definitely moments of discomfort, but I’m proud of what we were able to create. Speaking about identity in France can be complicated, and I’m proud I was able to articulate what France means to me in this episode. It was a very personal experience, but hopefully one that others can relate to.”

Noah is a reflective subject and an incisive interviewer, with a great grasp of narrative and style. Whenever he’s ready to, I don’t know, supply some studio analysis or color commentary for CHSN Bulls broadcasts, I’d have to imagine there’d be a chair waiting for him. The Bulls’ latest two-way signing, 2023 NBA Draft lottery pick Jordan Hawkins, will be fighting for his NBA life this season. Selected by a New Orleans Pelicans brain trust that included now-Chicago EVP of basketball operations Bryson Graham, Hawkins can now rehab his game while splitting his season between the Bulls proper and their NBAGL affiliate in Hoffman Estates, the Windy City Bulls. Hawkins, like 2024 lottery selection Rob Dillingham before him (although he was on Chicago’s standard roster), is a “second draft” addition — that is, a former top pick getting another look before what would have been the end of his four-year rookie scale contract. Rafael Barlowe of NBA Big Board suggests that Hawkins and Dillingham moving around so fast reflects a troubling trend league-wide: teams are giving up on developing young talent earlier than usual. Barlowe examines the cases of Hawkins and some other ex-lottery selections from the ’23 and ’24 classes, including Taylor Hendricks, Jett Howard, and Gradey Dick. When it comes to Hawkins, Barlowe writes that his elite 3-point shooting at UConn has thus far failed to translate to a comparable level in the pros. Assuming Hawkins never quite takes that leap as a high-level marksman, Barlowe wonders if he can grow defensively, improve his rebounding, or build out his handle. Speaking of lottery busts, $90 million man Patrick Williams appears doomed to fall out of new Bulls head coach Tiago Splitter’s rotation once the regular season tips off. He was the 11th man for Splitter in Chicago’s 104-100 loss to the Grizzlies on Friday — and that was without the injured Nicolas Claxton, Jalen Smith, Tre Jones, or Zach Collins available! Bulls.com Hall of Famer Sam Smith submits that the even-keeled Williams may be worthy of more consideration. He’s still a plus defender and a career 38.1 percent shooter from distance. Additionally, Smith notes that Williams was selected fourth overall in the 2020 NBA Draft. With that draft happening at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic’s pre-vaccine days, teams were not permitted to work out prospects in person. Chicago now has three top-10 picks from that draft (No. 5 selection Isaac Okoro and No. 10 pick Jalen Smith). This got me thinking: where would Patrick Williams go in a 2020 re-draft? Would any of the Bulls’ four 2020 NBA Draft alums (No. 41 pick Tre Jones is the fourth) even make the lottery? Let’s take stock. Minnesota Timberwolves: Anthony Edwards Golden State Warriors: Tyrese Haliburton Charlotte Hornets: Tyrese Maxey Chicago Bulls: Deni Avdija Cleveland Cavaliers: LaMelo Ball Atlanta Hawks: Jayden McDaniels Detroit Pistons: Desmond Bane New York Knicks: Devin Vassell Washington Wizards: Aaron Nesmith Phoenix Suns: Payton Pritchard San Antonio Spurs: Onyeka Okongwu Sacramento Kings: Saddiq Bey New Orleans Pelicans: Sam Merrill Boston Celtics: Jalen Smith What will it take for the Chicago Sky to move on from their ineffective tandem of GM Jeff Pagliocca and head coach Tyler Marsh? We’ve got even more evidence that the not-so-dynamic duo can’t seem to appreciate elite WNBA talent when it’s staring them in the face. After the organization soured on All-Star power forward Angel Reese — selected by Chicago with the No. 7 pick in 2024 — Chicago flipped her to a contending Atlanta Dream team ahead of the 2026 season, in exchange for the Dream’s non-lottery first-round pick swaps in 2027 and ’28. Although Pagliocca did obtain an All-Star-caliber talent in Rickea Jackson through a separate trade, there’s no question that Reese is a one-of-one. This season, Reese earned her third straight All-Star berth and her first-ever Defensive Player of the Year award while helping power the Dream to a 30-14 record and the league’s No. 4 seed. On Thursday night, Reese and four-time All-Star shooting guard Rhyne Howard and two-time All-Defensive Team point guard Jordin Canada led Atlanta to a semifinal sweep of the New York Liberty. In so doing, they secured the Dream’s first WNBA Finals appearance in 13 years.

    — NBA (@NBA) October 10, 2026 New York may have been the eighth seed heading into the playoffs, but after toppling the No. 1-seeded Minnesota Lynx in the first round, the Liberty’s 2024 championship-winning core of power forward Breanna Stewart, center Jonquel Jones and shooting guard Sabrina Ionescu remained a tough out. But they couldn’t stop Angel Reese. She averaged 20.7 points on .48/.57/.89 shooting splits (!), 7.7 rebounds, and 4.3 stocks in the series. Moments after outlasting New York in a narrow 85-83 dub, Reese took to X to gloat. She quote-tweeted her “manifesting the finals>>>” post from October of last year. ‘Nuff said.

    — Angel Reese (@Reese10Angel) October 10, 2026 That Chicago stymied and disregarded her greatness (including her rapidly improving 3-point shot, which has been excellent in the playoffs) should be the final straw in both Pagliocca and Marsh’s respective stints with the franchise. Prolific former Bulls combo guard Coby White, now starting at point for the Charlotte Hornets, has sold his former 7,000-square-foot, six-bedroom Lincoln Park mansion for a cool $5 million, reports the Chicago Tribune‘s Bob Goldsborough. He paid $4.8 million for the four-story pad in 2023. Although he made a $200K profit, that’s relative chump change for White — he inked a lucrative three-season, $74 million contract deal to stay in Charlotte this past summer. In 50 games split between the Bulls and Hornets last season, the 26-year-old averaged 17.4 points on .446/.362/.817 shooting splits, 4.0 assists, and 3.4 rebounds per.
