For many, swimming in college is a lifelong dream that is pursued with dedication and determination. Fitter and Faster is proud to honor these athletes and those who supported them on their journey.

Allie Dunn, a Junior Nationals qualifier and Futures finalist, has announced her verbal commitment to compete for Williams College in Massachusetts beginning in the fall of 2026.

“I am SO excited to announce my verbal commitment to the admissions process at Williams College!! Thank you to my coaches, family, teammates, and everyone supporting me in this process. Special thanks to Coach Kuster and Coach Allie for this amazing opportunity! Go ephs!!!”

A senior at James Bowie High School in Austin, Texas, Dunn has been a member of her school’s varsity swimming & diving team since her freshman year. She also swims year-round with Longhorn Aquatics under Coach Mike Laitala, where she primarily specializes in mid-distance and distance free and back.

Dunn delivered a series of strong performances at the 2025 Speedo Sectionals – Justin (SCY) last March. She earned a second swim in the 500 free, placing 27th in 5:01.56, and placed 18th in the 1000 free (10:12.65 – PB) and 10th in the 1650 free (17:09.83 – PB). She also contested the 200 free, finishing 72nd in 1:57.04, and anchored all four freestyle relays for her team.

Over the summer, Dunn enjoyed a top weekend of racing at the Speedo Futures Championship in Sacramento (LCM). She placed 3rd in the 1500 free (17:26.21) and 7th in the 800 free (9:06.73), logging new personal best times and hitting the Juniors qualification standard in both events. She finished 26th in the 400 free (4:27.96) and contested the 50 fly (30.70 – PB).

A few weeks later, Dunn competed at the Junior National Championships (LCM). Her top performance came in the 800 free, where she placed 51st in a lifetime best time of 9:05.50. She also contested the 400 free, finishing 81st in 4:27.90.

Dunn is off to a strong start so far this 2025-26 SCY season, turning in a series of fast swims at the Bob Stallings Aggieland Invitational in November. She won the 500 free in 5:04.14 and was the runner-up in the 200 free in a season-best time of 1:55.92. She also helped her team to a 5th-place finish in the 400 free relay and an 8th-place finish in the 200 medley relay.

At the high school level, Dunn has made it to the Texas state championships the past two years. Her top performance came at the 2025 UIL 6A State Championship, where she placed 10th in the 500 free in 4:59.58 after clocking a lifetime best time of 4:59.46 during prelims.

A Division III program, Williams competes in the NESCAC conference, with the women’s team taking home the 2025 championship title to mark their 21st NESCAC title in program history. Williams went on to send 11 swimmers on to compete at the NCAA Division III Championship, where the team placed 6th overall.

Based on the results from the 2025 NESCAC Women’s Championships, Dunn would have placed 5th in the 1650 free and landed in the ‘A’ final in the 500 free and 200 back and the ‘C’ final in the 200 free and 100 back, setting her up to be a key contributor right from the start.

Dunn chose Williams for its combination of high-quality academics and athletics, and she will be the second member of her family to compete in the NESCAC, as her sister Madeleine Dunn is currently a senior at Tufts University.

Dunn is currently set to be joined on campus in the fall by Kenzie Kim (free/breast/IM) and Maddie Bartleman (free/back), who should both make for strong training partners over the next four years.
