The 007 First Light release date is fast approaching and IO Interactive have just debuted a brand new trailer for the game showcasing the game's villain, or at least one of them.
This villain is called Bawma and he resides in Aleph, Maruitania. He is played by none other than music icon Lenny Kravitz. Yes, really.
It's a pretty surprising casting, but does fit some of the wacky and surprising castings we have seen from the Bond franchise over the years.
The trailer doesn't give much away about how big of a role Bawma will play, but he will at least be a central figure during the missions which take place in Aleph.
007 First Light could have even more villains, especially if IO Interactive are opting for several villains across the game's different locales and missions, but Bawma could be a central figure in the plot and main story too.
We will have to wait for more details from IO Interactive, or the game's full release to know for sure.
Lenny Kravitz has played a variety of roles over the years, in addition to his successful music career. This includes portraying the role of Cinna in The Hunger Games and The Hunger Games: Catching Fire.
He joins a packed cast of other familiar faces, including Patrick Gibson (Dexter: Original Sin, Shadow and Bone, the OA) as James Bond himself.
Other casting choices include Priyanga Burford (Industry, No Time To Die) as M, Alastair Mackenzie (Andor, The Crown) as Q, and Lennie James (The Walking Dead) as Greenway.
Meanwhile, Gemma Chan (Eternals, Crazy Rich Asians, Humans) plays Dr. Selina Tan, Kiera Lester (Maigret, Ruby Speaking) is Moneypenny, and finally, Noémie Nakai (Tokyo Vice, Army of Thieves) is Ms. Roth.
We should see even more cast announcements before the game launches on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Nintendo Switch 2 on 27th March 2026.
In the meantime, check out the interview below to learn more from Jonathan Lacaille, the franchise director behind 007 First Light. It was an interesting chat!
