ROCHESTER, N.Y. — A former volunteer firefighter with the Chili Fire Department was arrested on charges of sexual exploitation of children and producing child porn.
Court documents say Vincent Steiner sent explicit photos and messages to minors over Roblox and text.
In March, a parent reported that a man, later identified as Steiner, was texting his 12-year-old daughter since around December 2024. The court documents say the parent learned about it when he saw inappropriate messages on his daughter’s phone.
The victim in the court documents says she met Steiner, who told her he was a 20-year-old man, on Roblox, and eventually gave him her number.
In May, a search and seizure warrant was issued for information associated with Steiner’s Roblox accounts. That’s when investigators say they found explicit messages between Steiner and a Roblox user claiming to be a 13-year-old.
On July 22, a search and seizure warrant was executed on Steiner’s home. According to the court documents, Steiner confirmed his Roblox usernames, which were the same ones found during a previous search warrant.
The court documents also say Steiner confirmed he had been talking with a minor on Roblox and confirmed getting explicit photos from a minor over text.
Steiner’s phone was seized during the search warrant. According to the court documents, investigators found various child porn on Steiner’s phone.
In a statement from the Chili Fire Department, the chief of the department confirmed Steiner used to be a volunteer member, but resigned in July.

“Vincent Steiner was previously a volunteer member of the Chili Fire Department. He resigned from the department in July of this year and has had no association with the agency since that time. We have no information indicating that any of the allegations occurred while he was on duty or engaged in department activities, and we are not aware of any allegations or inquiries related to his conduct during his time as a volunteer.
As a matter of policy, the Chili Fire Department cannot comment on an individual’s actions or circumstances following their resignation. We continue to fully cooperate with our law enforcement partners and stand ready to assist should any information be requested.”
