For the first time in a month and a half, the Chicago Cubs won a game in which they trailed. A truly incredible, borderline-unbelievable, by-far-worst-in-franchise-history streak is over. I don’t even care that it’s the most threadbare possible type of “comeback” ever.
Shōta Imanaga was brilliant for seven innings, Andrew Kittredge and Brad Keller (TBA why it wasn’t Daniel Palencia) notched five strikeouts in their two innings of work, and the bats did juuuuuuust enough to win. Praise jeebus.
Imanaga gets the Ankin Law “Making It Personal” Player of the Game honors, but Kyle Tucker and Seiya Suzuki deserve some praise for actually having a good day at the same time.
