A LUCKY lottery player is sitting on a $1 million prize but may not know it yet.
The anonymous Mega Millions player bought the winning ticket at a popular supermarket in Illinois, but has yet to stake their claim.
Billions of dollars worth of lottery prizes go unclaimed each year, so be sure to double-check your tickets.
You could be the winner of a $1 million Mega Millions prize that’s just waiting to be claimed.
The lucky ticket was purchased at Chicago-based grocery chain Tony’s Fresh Market.
Formerly called Tony’s Finer Foods, the store that sold the winning Mega Millions ticket is located at 4608 West Belmont Avenue in Chicago, Illinois.
The anonymous player scooped the second place prize in Tuesday’s drawing, matching the five white balls: 04, 08, 11, 32 and 52.
They did not guess the Mega Ball 13, missing out on the estimated jackpot of $181 million.

The ticket was sold at the High Falls Market convenience store in Jackson, 40 miles south of Atlanta, according to lottery officials.
The Mega Millions winner from Illinois must claim their $1 million prize within one year after the drawing date.
Because the prize was over $10,000, the player must claim their winnings at a claim center with an appointment or by mail.
The Georgia player, on the other hand, only has 180 days from the February 25 draw date to scoop their prize.
They can either claim the cash at Georgia Lottery Headquarters or any Georgia Lottery district office or mailed to the Georgia Lottery for payment.
A MEGA WIN
Mega Millions is a national lottery game with drawings held Tuesdays and Fridays at 11 pm ET.
The next drawing is on February 28 with an estimated $197 million grand prize.
The popular game costs $2 and is played in 45 states, Washington DC, and the US Virgin Islands.
Tickets can be purchased on the day of the drawing, although sales times vary by state.
Officials have announced that the game will soon increase in cost to $5 per ticket beginning in April.
Although there are nine ways to score a Mega Millions prize, players must match all five white balls and the gold Mega Ball to win the jackpot.
While the odds of scoring a jackpot prize are just one in over 302 million, it’s not impossible.
One player scored a $112 million Mega Millions jackpot, but risks losing half of the prize if they take a popular choice.
Plus, an astounding $1.2 billion Mega Millions jackpot was won in December, with the ticket bought at a gas station.
