STOCKTON – Deputies in San Joaquin County say they are investigating a suspicious package that was found near Stockton and has prompted evacuations Friday afternoon.
Deputies said the device was found at Ryde Avenue just south of Del Rio Drive. The road has been closed and nearby homes are being evacuated.
The Explosive Ordnance Disposal team is responding to the scene.
People are urged to avoid the area.
