26 years after the finale of Beverly Hills, 90210, stars Tori Spelling and Brian Austin Green are reuniting for an exciting new digital project.
Green and Spelling will link up with Carol Potter (ex-Cindy Walsh) for a brand-new vertical microdrama for VertTV, according to Deadline.
Theo Buckwald wrote the series and has a team of producers including Barry Barnholtz, Peter Sullivan, Ben Rosenthal, Brian Nolan, and Jeffrey Schenck.
Exact details surrounding the title and plot have yet to be revealed; however, the series is described as a “thriller.”
The vertical drama phase has taken over the internet. Typically, these microdramas are built for audiences on social media apps such as TikTok and Instagram Reels.
Episodes typically last only a couple of minutes and are shot vertically rather than horizontally to allow for easy scrolling.
Recently, Epis announced plans to retool existing episodes of the Australian soap opera Neighbors to be consumed in a fast-paced digital age, starting with storylines involving Margot Robbie’s character, Donna Freedman.
Spelling portrayed Donna Martin on the former FOX franchise for its entire run from 1990 to 2000. Donna was involved in an on-and-off relationship with Green’s character, David Silver, and the two ultimately married in the series finale.
The two actors reunited in 2019, along with other members of the Beverly Hills, 90210 cast, for the FOX comedy retooling BH90210, which followed the cast as they tried to ‘reboot’ the series with their characters. This followed the CW continuation of the series 90210.
Green’s acting career began in 1985 with an appearance in the made-for-TV movie The Canterville Ghost. He then joined the primetime soap opera Knots Landing in 1986, where he portrayed Brian Cunningham until 1989.
Spelling began her acting career in 1981 on Vega$, and continued to make appearances throughout her father Aaron Spelling’s numerous projects including The Love Boat and Hotel.
The two actors previously appeared in The Best Pizza is in LA. This documentary follows filmmaker Pete Ferriero on a journey to prove that the best pizza is not in New York, Chicago, or Italy, but actually in Los Angeles.
Details about the new microdrama, including name and release date, are expected to be announced in the coming months.
