ROCHESTER, N.Y. – We set a new daily record in Rochester on Wednesday, with a high temperature of 80° beating the old record for the date of 78°. We were also in rare territory, tied for the warmest November day on record at the Rochester Airport. But we’re headed back to reality starting Wednesday night as a large area of low pressure moves toward us.
Showers will develop into a few hours of a steady light rain overnight, tapering by Thursday morning. A few showers may linger into early Thursday morning, but we should tend to dry out and see some sun returning the rest of the day. It’ll be a bit breezy, with a southwest wind gusting 25-30 at times. It’ll be cooler than Wednesday, but still fairly mild for early November, with highs well into the 60s. It’ll be a slow slide from there, though. Friday will see temperatures dropping back into the lower 60s and upper 50s, and cooler air for the weekend.
Speaking of the weekend, we’ll have a much higher rain risk this weekend, specifically on Saturday. Showers will be likely with some periods of a steadier rain at times as an area of low pressure and associated upper level low move overhead. This will keep us damp and cool with highs holding in the 40s. Sunday should feature some drier weather, but still remaining cool.
