Daniel Bunge, 13, NOVA of Virginia (VA): Bunge set four best times at the Katie Ledecky Invitational in College Park, most notably clocking 1:42.59 in the 200 free, which ranks him 1st this season among 13-year-old boys and 11th in the boys’ 13-14 age group. Over the last 12 months, he’s lowered his PB by seven seconds, having gone 1:49.46 back in December 2024. He also went 4:44.81 in the 500 free at the Katie Ledecky Invitational, which ranks 6th this season among 13-year-old boys and 39th in the 13-14 age group, and added bests in the 50 free (22.02) and 50 back (25.38).
Julia Bak, 14, QNS Aquatic Club (MR): Bak set a trio of best times at the Katie Ledecky Invitational while winning four events for 13-14 girls. Bak most notably clocked a PB of 54.20 in the 100 fly, ranking her 2nd in the girls’ 13-14 age group this season and tied for 72nd all-time. She also set a best of 1:49.37 in the 200 free to rank 6th this season, while her season-bests rank 2nd this season in the 50 free (22.86), 6th in the 100 free (50.47), 1st in the 50 back (25.24) and 4th in the 100 back (54.10). She also set a new PB in the 200 back (2:03.68).
Michael White, 12, YMCA of the Triangle Area Swim Team (NC): White put up seven best times at the 32nd Annual YOTA/Arena Capital meet in Cary, N.C., moving up in the boys’ 11-12 all-time rankings in four of them and cracking the top 10 this season in the age group in six. He clocked 4:51.20 in the 500 free to rank 3rd this season among 11-12 boys and 46th all-time, while he moves to 4th this season and 62nd all-time in the 200 free (1:48.85), 5th and 43rd in the 100 free (49.62) and 5th and tied for 77th in the 50 free (22.98). He also moved to 6th this season in the 100 back (57.15), 7th in the 50 back (26.34) and 19th in the 200 IM (2:07.85).
Sarah Chiang, 11, Pacific Dragons Swim Team (PN): Chiang set six lifetime bests at the Pacific Northwest 14 & U Short Course Championships in Federal Way, highlighted by what she did in the 1650 free. In just her second time swimming the event, Chiang dropped more than 36 seconds to clock 18:38.64, ranking her 2nd this season among 11-year-old girls and 17th in the 11-12 age group. She also went 4:49.61 in the 400 IM to rank 6th this season among 11-year-olds, and 2:18.90 in the 200 IM to rank 19th. She added best times in the 200 free (2:05.09), 500 free (5:30.36) and 100 back (1:05.56).
Emma Blaho, 10, Empire Swimming (MR): Blaho set six best times at the CRA Winter Invitational in Wellesley, Mass., cracking the top 10 in the girls’ 10 & under rankings this season in four events and moving into the top 100 all-time in two. Blaho put up a time of 57.65 in the 100 free to rank 2nd this season and 94th all-time among 10 & unders, while in the 50 free, her time of 26.54 sits 6th this season and 88th all-time. She also moved to 7th this season in the 200 IM (2:25.42), 8th in the 50 back (30.80), 11th in the 200 free (2:09.09) and 12th in the 500 free (5:46.48) en route to winning eight events at the meet.
