November 28-30, 2025 Lethbridge, Alberta SCM (25 Meters) Live Results Championship CentralOn the final day of action from Lethbridge, the University of British Columbia (UBC) Thunderbirds men’s and women’s teams each came away with Canada West Swimming team titles for the second year in a row.
Women’s Recap
The women’s team win for UBC marked their fourth straight Canada West Swimming Championship. Led by Kayla Sanchez, who was named the conference’s female Swimmer of the Year.
Calgary still finished with strong performances; in the 200 butterfly, the Dinos finished 1-2, with Kaitlyn Luu (2:17.61) and Hayley French (2:19.18) taking the top spots. Behind French were three other swimmers who finished under 2:20.
Emma O’Croinin led the way for the Thunderbirds in the 100 freestyle, clocking a sun-55 second time of 54.76, ahead of Calgary’s Eliza Housman in 55.38. She later notched the 400 free win for UBC with a five and a half second win, stopping the clock in 4:12.65.
Sarah Haugen picked up another win for Calgary in the 200 IM, winning by just over half a second, finishing in 2:16.41. UBC’s Camryn Stannard was 2nd, turning in a final time of 2:16.95. Jade Lo of UBC was just behind for 3rd in 2:16.97.
Bridget Burton (58.38), Eloise Allen (58.93), and Piper Mitchell (1:00.46) led the podium sweep for the Thunderbirds in the 100 backstroke.
Alexanne Lepage added to Calgary’s impressive 3rd day performance with a dominant victory in the 200 breaststroke. Her time of 2:25.16 was nearly seven full seconds ahead of the rest of the field.
The UBC women closed out the meet with a five-second margin of victory in the 400 medley relay: Burton (58.48), Allen (1:07.10), Brooklyn Wiens (59.64), and O’Cronin (55.14). Combined for the win in 4:00.36 to solidify their 15th Canada West Championship title in the last 16 years.

UBC’s Aiden Kirk, who was named men’s Swimmer of the Year and Rookie of the Year, opened up the scoring on the final day of action for the men with his win in the 200 fly. Kirk notched the lone sub-2:00 swim with his finals time of 1:59.24. Kirk added a 400 free win to his stellar showing, comfortably winning the event by over three and a half seconds in 3:49.14.
Thunderbird Yuri Kisil clocked 48.26 in the 100 free, leading a 1-2-3 sweep of the event, ahead of teammates Jake Gaunt (49.43) and Siu Lun Ho (49.47).
Jaques Harrison of UBC touched ahead of six Calgary men in the Championship final to claim the 200 IM victory in 1:59.77.
The Thunderbirds continued to dominate the men’s side of the meet in the 100 back. Raben Dommann finished almost two seconds ahead of Calgary’s Thomas McDonald (54.06) for the win in 52.25.
Justice Migneault kept the UBC train rolling with his second and a half win in the 200 breast, clocking 2:09.08, less than two tenths off of the Canada West Record time of 2:08.91.
UBC closed out the day with a sweep of events on day 3; Dommann (52.76), Migneault (58.66), Wells Ginzer (52.69), and Ho (48.72) came together for a 400 medley relay win in 3:32.83.
