After the San Antonio Spurs mercy-killed our lowly Chicago Bulls on Monday to help the club end its road trip with a 0-4 record, the Bulls return to the United Center to face the tanktastic Indiana Pacers.
Happily for our 2026 NBA Draft prospects, Indiana weirdly has seemed to have Chicago’s number all year. Can our “bad” luck continue Wednesday?

Wembanyama Burnishes MVP Case as Spurs Paste Bulls 129-114 — March 30, 2026What To Watch For
Stunningly, the tanking Pacers went 3-0 against the Bulls pre-trade deadline this year. With so many of Chicago’s top remaining players sidelined, it sure seems possible that Indiana can make it a clean season sweep. That, of course, would be ideal, as it would slightly hamper their Tankathon prospects and mildly boost ours. Indiana desperately wants to tank. But Chicago is doing what it can to improve its own chances. Josh Giddey was a late addition to the Bulls’ injury report thanks to a supposed left hamstring issue. The Bulls’ thin frontcourt is without top defenders Zach Collins or Jalen Smith for the year, of course, but even new trade addition Nick Richards will sit out again. The Bulls are also still missing guard Anfernee Simons, who like now-ex-Bull Jaden Ivey arrived to Chicago as sneakily damaged goods. Simons has been out of commission since February with a left wrist fracture — which apparently has been pestering him all year. Pacers All-Star power forward Pascal Siakam is probable to play through a right knee ailment. If he sits, Indiana’s starting five could be some deep, deep bench guys. Check out their checkered list of long-term injuries as they gun for a top-four pick. This marks an exciting opportunity for the Bulls’ most exciting current prospect, Matas Buzelis, to light up an opponent. The second-year vet has enjoyed a solid recent run, averaging 19.8 points on .433/.323/.839 shooting splits (but he’s taking 9.3 triple tries a night, which is a bit ominous considering that dicey conversion rate), 7.3 rebounds, 1.3 assists, 1.7 blocks and 0.9 steals per.Chicago Bulls
