In addition to hosting the Dual Meet Challenge later this week, Tennessee will host an invite allowing swimmers not competing in the dual meet challenge the opportunity to have swims. In addition, today also features swimmers that are expected to compete on the dual meet challenge such as Ilya Kharun of Arizona State in the 50 free, Claire Curzan of Virginia in the 50 free, and Thomas Heilman of Virginia in the 100 fly.

Women’s 200 Free

2026 NCAA Qualifying Time — 1:45.53 2025 Invite Time — 1:44.74

Top 3:

Emily Brown (TENN) 1:45.74 Sarah Pasquella (MICH) 1:46.91 Montse Spielmann (MICH) 1:47.57

Tennessee’s Emily Brown snuck under her own lifetime best of a 1:45.88 that she posted during high school back in February 2023 as she swam to a 1:45.74 today. She has only raced the event three times since February 2023, with her fastest before today being a 1:46.35 during the Tennessee vs Alabama dual meet in January 2025.

A pair of Michigan freshman finished 2nd and 3rd as Pasquella got under her old lifetime best of a 1:48.79.

Men’s 200 Free

2026 NCAA Qualifying Time — 1:33.93 2025 Invite Time — 1:32.27

Top 3:

Martin Espernberger (TENN) 1:36.52 Henry Gray (MICH) 1:37.66 Jackson Tishler (UVA) 1:41.90

Espernberger was 1.01 seconds off his lifetime best that he swam at last year’s Tennessee Invite. Primarily a butterflyer, Espernberger swam on the 800 free relay at SECs for Tennessee last spring.

Women’s 100 Back

2026 NCAA Qualifying Time: 52.65 2025 Invite Time: 51.68

Top:

Carly Novelline (UVA) 52.54 Jillian Crooks (TENN) 53.14

Carly Novelline of Virginia got under her season best of a 52.83 that she swam last month in the dual meet against UNC. She swam a 51.68 at ACCs last spring. Novelline swam a 53.04 at midseason last year.

Men’s 100 Back

2026 NCAA Qualifying Time: 46.29 2025 Invite Time: 45.26

Top 3:

Ulises Saravia (TENN) 46.44 Grant Murphy (UVA) 47.78 Jack Aikins (UVA) 47.78 –

The swim marked Saravia’s first time competing for Tennessee, meaning it also was his first SCY race ever. Virginia freshman Grant Murphy was just off his lifetime best 47.53 that he swam in February back in high school.

Women’s 100 Breast

2026 NCAA Qualifying Time — 1:00.30 2025 Invite Time — 59.51

Top 3:

Simone Moll (TENN) 58.98 Emma Redman (UVA) 1:00.37 Hannah Marinovich (TENN) 1:00.47

Tennessee’s Simone Moll swam to a lifetime best 58.98 for the fastest time of the morning. Her previous best was a 59.51 from last fall’s SMU Invite when she was with Miami-FL. She arrived this fall as a transfer. Moll boosts an already strong breaststroke group that features McKenzie Siroky and Emilee Fast who have already been 57.78 and 59.54 in the 100 breast this season.

Redman’s time for Virginia was also faster than her old personal best of a 1:00.70.

2026 NCAA Qualifying Time — 52.58 2025 Invite Time — 51.58

Andy Dobrzanski (ASU) 51.63 Lucien Vergnes (ASU) 52.25 Brayden Taivassalo (ASU) 52.99

Arizona State swept the event this morning with Andy Dobrzanski leading the way. He has been as fast as 51.27 which he swam at NCAAs this past March for 14th. Vergnes dropped from his previous best of a 52.29 that he swam last November in a dual meet.

Women’s 200 Fly

2026 NCAA Qualifying Time — 1:57.11 2025 Invite Time — 1:55.82

Top:

Sonia Vaishnani (ASU) 1:58.85

Vaishnani has been as fast a 1:57.40 in the event before which she swam last November in a dual meet against Cal and Stanford.

Men’s 200 Fly

2026 NCAA Qualifying Time — 1:43.79 2025 Invite Time — 1:41.45

Top:

Aidan Hill (TENN) 1:44.57

Hill’s best time is a 1:43.39 but today’s swim marked a season best, dropping from his 1:46.12 that he swam in the tri meet agaist Auburn and Louisville at the end of October.

Women’s 50 Free

2026 NCAA Qualifying Time — 22.28 2025 Invite Time — 22.01

Top 3:

Sara Curtis (UVA) 21.45 Anna Moesch (UVA) 21.67 Claire Curzan (UVA) 21.69

The Virginia freshman Curtis swam a lifetime best 21.18 against UNC last month. It is expected that she races the event again this week in Knoxville during the Dual Meet Tournament.

Anna Moesch of Virginia posted a lifetime best 21.67 dropping from her 21.73 she swam back in high school in April 2024. The Virginia sophomore was 20th in the event at 2025 NCAAs with a 21.92.

Claire Curzan was 2nd in the 50 free at 2025 NCAAs with a 21.11, her lifetime best. She has been as fast as 21.48 this season and swam a 21.69 today.

Men’s 50 Free

2026 NCAA Qualifying Time — 19.43 2025 Invite Time — 19.02

Top 3:

Ilya Kharun (ASU) 18.63 Tommy Palmer (ASU) 18.95 Remi Fabiani (ASU) 19.00

The Arizona State men swept the event and were led by Ilya Kharun‘s 18.63. He swam a 18.54 earlier this month in a dual meet, the top time in the NCAA this season. Palmer swam faster than his previous season best of a 19.14 and has a lifetime best 18.87.

Women’s 400 IM

2026 NCAA Qualifying Time — 4:13.20 2025 Invite Time — 4:09.53

Top 3:

Ella Guilfoil (ASU) 4:18.08 Milly Leonard (TENN) 4:19.84 Sophie Brison (TENN) 4:22.27

Guilfoil posted a season best, dropping a second off her 4:19.26 from a month ago. Her lifetime best is a 4:14.91 that she swam in January at the Eddie Reese Showdown.

Leonard, a freshman at Tennessee, has not raced the event since 2022 and dropped from her lifetime best 4:43.87 that she swam back in 2021.

Women’s 100 Free

2026 NCAA Qualifying Time — 48.60 2025 Invite Time — 48.11

Top 3:

Emily Armen (TENN) 48.02 Julianna Bocska (TENN) 48.73 Lilly Daley (TENN) 48.81

Armen entered the season with a lifetime best 48.57 from March and already swam faster than that this fall with a 48.49 last month. She dropped another 0.47 seconds today to post a 48.02.

The freshman Bocska entered the day with a lifetime best 49.11 and got under the 49 second mark with a 48.73.

Men’s 100 Free

2026 NCAA Qualifying Time — 42.55 2025 Invite Time — 41.95

Top 3:

Quin Seider (ASU) 42.12 Koby Bujak-Upton (TENN) 42.26 David King (UVA) 43.20

Quin Seider got under his lifetime best of a 42.28 that he swam at the Eddie Reese Showdown in January to touch in a 42.12 today.

Tennessee’s Bujak-Upton cracked the 43 second mark for the first time as his previous best was a 43.01.

Women’s 200 Back

2026 NCAA Qualifying Time — 1:54.80 2025 Invite Time — 1:53.31

Top 3:

Regan Rathwell (TENN) 1:53.55 Lily Cleason (MICH) 1:55.19 Gerda Szilagyi (ASU) 1:56.52

Rathwell dropped a huge season best as she swam a 1:56.20 last month against Texas. Her lifetime best is a 1:51.29 that she swam for 12th at 2025 NCAAs. Michigan’s Lily Cleason was about half a second off her lifetime best 1:54.65 that she swam at the 2025 Big Ten Championships.

Men’s 200 Back

2026 NCAA Qualifying Time — 1:42.14 2025 Invite Time — 1:40.13

Top 3:

Nick Simmons (TENN) 1:40.72 Jake McCoy (TENN) 1:42.99 Ben Bricca (TENN) 1:43.13

Simons dropped over two seconds off his previous season best of a 1:43.32 and was only half a second off his lifetime best 1:40.05 he swam back at the 2023 SEC Championships. His time today was already faster than he was all of last season as his best time last season was a 1:40.77 that he swam at Tennessee’s Last Chance meet.

Freshman Jake McCoy dropped over a second off his lifetime best 1:44.41 that he swam in March.

Women’s 200 Breast

2026 NCAA Qualifying Time — 2:11.27 2025 Invite Time — 2:09.58

Top 3:

Leah Hayes (UVA) 2:09.39 Hannah Marinovich (TENN) 2:11.93 Zoe Summar (ASU) 2:14.67

Hayes was faster today than she was a year ago at midseason as she swam a 2:09.39 today and a 2:09.47 last year at midseason. She went on to swim a lifetime best 2:07.85 at ACCs last spring. Hayes went on to swim the 200 breast in prelims at 2025 NCAAs swimming a 2:08.69 in prelims for 17th.

Marinovich of Tennessee dropped a lifetime best 2:11.93 as she entered the meet with a lifetime best of a 2:12.62 from midseason a year ago.

Men’s 200 Breast

2026 NCAA Qualifying Time — 1:54.95 2025 Invite Time — 1:52.89

Top:

Gabe Nunziata (TENN) 1:53.08 Grayson Nye (TENN) 1:56.92

Freshman Gabe Nunziata already posted a lifetime best 1:53.62 against Texas and lowered that once again here with a 1:53.08. He came to Tennessee with a best time of a 1:53.73.

Men’s 500 Free

2026 NCAA Qualifying Time — 4:18.07 2025 Invite Time — 4:14.13

Top 3:

Mattia Mauri (ASU) 4:21.41 Michael Hochwalt (ASU) 4:22.20 Harrison Smith (ASU) 4:24.07

Freshman Mattia Mauri posted a new best time 4:21.41, dropping 0.03 from his previous best. The Switzerland native has now raced the 500 four times this fall.

Women’s 100 Fly

2026 NCAA Qualifying Time — 52.52 2025 Invite Time — 51.87

Top 3:

Madi Mintenko (UVA) 51.45 Tess Howley (UVA) 51.95 Miriam Sheehan (ASU) 52.42

Madi Mintenko swam to a lifetime best 51.45, dropping from her 51.50 that she swam back at Winter Juniors West last fall. Although she is primarily a freestyler, she raced the 100 fly this past summer at US Summer Nationals. It took a 51.35 to final in the 100 fly this past spring at NCAAs.

Men’s 100 Fly

2026 NCAA Qualifying Time — 46.11 2025 Invite Time — 45.12

Top 3:

Filip Senc-Samardzic (ASU) 45.13 Thomas Heilman (UVA) 45.15 Hayden Bellotti (UVA) 46.80

Senc-Samardzic has been as fast as a 44.93 before but today’s swim marked a season best as he entered the meet with a 45.84 from last month’s dual meet against Cal and Stanford. Virginia’s Thomas Heilman has a season best of a 44.59 and a lifetime best 43.89 and swam to a 45.15 for 2nd today. It is expected that he races the 100 fly this weekend in the Dual Meet Challenge.

Women’s 200 IM

2026 NCAA Qualifying Time — 1:57.88 2025 Invite Time — 1:56.69

Top 3:

Aimee Canny (UVA) 1:54.65 Ella Jansen (TENN) 1:55.88 Zoe Skirboll (UVA) 1:57.54

Canny swam to another lifetime best in the 200 IM this fall after swimming a 1:55.05 against Florida last month. Canny notably swam the event at 2023 NCAAs but opted for the 500 free on day 2 of NCAAs the last two seasons.

Like Canny, Jansen had also already swam a lifetime best in the 200 IM this fall as she swam a 1:56.25 last month but improved upon that with a 1:55.88 today. Jansen also swam the 500 free at 2025 NCAAs rather than the 200 IM.

Men’s 200 IM

2026 NCAA Qualifying Time — 1:44.13 2025 Invite Time — 1:42.65

Top 3:

JT Ewing (ASU) 1:42.93 Jordan Tiffany (ASU) 1:43.02

NC State transfer JT Ewing has dropped almost four seconds in the 200 IM so far this season already as he arrived this fall with a lifetime best 1:46.80 and swam to a 1:42.93 today. He entered the meet with a lifetime best 1:44.81 from October’s dual meet against Stanford and Cal. He made 2025 NCAAs, swimming both backstroke events and has the potential to have the 200 IM be another event in his lineup.
