FOX Sports Big Ten analyst Joel Klatt heads to X (formerly Twitter) every Sunday to update his Top 10 college football teams, and this week’s blast has plenty of SEC talent in the picture.
Naturally, Klatt serves the bosses accordingly by listing the Ohio State Buckeyes at No. 1 (we kid, sort of), but he has the LSU Tigers at No. 2 – in front of Big Ten powers Oregon and Penn State. LSU took down Florida 20-10 Saturday night in Baton Rouge, despite coach Brian Kelly having to defend himself about the Tigers’ third-down efficiency and running game.
The Georgia Bulldogs, who escaped Knoxville with a 44-41 overtime victory over Tennessee, checks in at No. 5 on Klatt’s Top 10. The Oklahoma Sooners are at No. 7 after thumping Temple 42-3. And Texas is ranked 8th by Klatt despite a lackluster 27-10 home victory against UTEP.
Klatt also lists Tennessee, Texas A&M and Alabama among his “almost” teams just outside the Top 10. The Aggies are the most notable to miss the Top 10, given that they knocked off then-No. 8 Notre Dame 41-40 in South Bend on Saturday night.
