Tyler Cameron spoke out about his awkward onstage moment on Dancing with the Stars.
The Bachelorette alum, who was eliminated from the ABC celebrity ballroom competition during Horror Movies Night, was visibly upset after receiving low scores from the judges, including a lowly “5” from guest judge Shirley Ballas, following his Viennese waltz with Sharna Burgess. The frustrated reality star started to walk away before host Julianne Hough cut to commercial. Burgess grabbed Cameron’s hand to keep him in the camera shot. They were eliminated from the show soon after.
Cameron, 33, posted a TikTok video to address the moment, which he explained came from true emotion of realizing his fate.
“I am just so grateful for everything, for you, for what this has meant to me, for everything,” Cameron said. “And I also want to say, too, y’all saw a real human moment out of me. Not my proudest moment when I was upstairs getting my scores.”
“I thought we were done filming, and I needed to step away from it all,” he further explained. “I was disappointed in myself. I thought it was boom or bust at that point, where we had to have a great score or we were out of this competition, and it was bust in my head, and I felt like I let myself down. More importantly, I thought I let Sharna down, and it was hard.”
“I was just real and raw,” he continued. “This show’s a pressure cooker, and all I wanted to do was score well and crush it and move on to the next week, because this has been the most incredible experience. It didn’t happen that way, and I was upset.”
Cameron concluded by apologizing for letting his emotions get the best of him.

Following Tuesday’s live DWTS, fans debated Cameron’s reaction to his scores on Reddit, with many saying they felt “bad” for him.
“Tonight he was so visibly frustrated. Never mind the obvious where he tried walking off but on stage at elimination, Sharna reached for his hand he refused?” one Reddit user wrote.
“I did feel bad for him in that moment,” another agreed. “Three judges told him he had bad technique but good performance, then the last judge said, ‘Well, actually your acting was bad too, then Julianne’s mic was in his face asking if the comments gave him whiplash.'”
Cameron later told E! News he felt bad for Burgess as well.
“You saw me upset up there. I was disappointed in myself because I felt like I let her down,” the DWTS alum shared.
