The cause of death of a man whose body was found Tuesday on an East Village sidewalk is being investigated.

His body was discovered at about 9:40 a.m. alongside G Street, near 14th Street, according to the San Diego Police Department.

There were no signs of suspicious circumstances related to the death of the man, who appeared to have been about 40 years old, Officer Sarah Foster said.

The county Medical Examiner’s Office was called to the East Village to take custody of the body for autopsy and identification purposes.
