The Weld RE-3J School District seeks nominations for school board candidates for the upcoming election on Tuesday, Nov. 4.
The school board represents five districts in Hudson, Keenesburg, Lochbuie and Roggen. The school district will fill three four-year terms in district seats: A, B, and C, according to a Weld RE-3J news release. This year’s elected officials for districts D and E will serve two-year terms.
To qualify for the role, candidates must:
Reside in the district they will represent Have been a registered elector of the school district for at least 12 consecutive months before the election Have no convictions for committing a sexual offense against a childPotential candidates who want to be placed on the ballot for any of the five director seats must file a written notice of intent and gather a nomination petition with at least 50 signatures from eligible voters.
Residents can obtain nomination petitions beginning Wednesday at the District Office, 1101 4th Ave., Hudson, according to the release. Office hours are from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Completed petitions must be submitted to Brendan Clark, the designated elections official for Weld RE-3J, by 4 p.m. Aug. 29.
