Lisa Whelchel and Geri Jewell found fame on the hit ’80s TV sitcom The Facts of Life, and the duo is back together 38 years after the show ended.
Whelchel, 63, hit it big as a blonde New Yorker with an attitude to boot named Blair Warner. Warner, 70, was diagnosed with cerebral palsy at eighteen months old, and later went on to become the first disabled actor to have a recurring role on a TV series with her role on The Facts of Life. She played Blair’s cousin Geri, whose presence at the Eastland School made Blair uncomfortable. As you’d expect, Geri and Blair became close on the show. However, that relationship mirrors the stars’ relationship in real life. Whelchel and Jewell just reunited, 38 years after the original series ended in 1988. In a sweet photo, Whelchel and Jewell have their arms around each other.
“So great to hang with my dear friend Geri Jewell. We have known each other almost 50 years! She was my first roommate. Old friends are gold! (And I LOVE her shirt!) ?,” Whelchel captioned the show, which showed Jewell wearing a shirt that said, “I still believe in Norman Lear’s America.” (The Facts of Life, of course, was created by TV titan Norman Lear.)

Jewell first arrived on The Facts of Life in 1980. She played Cousin Geri, a family member of Blair Warner. Her character ended up being featured on 12 episodes of the popular series.
