Todd Chrisley is opening up about his initial concerns over daughter Savannah Chrisley’s relationship with her new fiancé.
The Chrisley Knows Best star, 57, appeared alongside wife Julie Chrisley on the Thursday, Oct. 29, episode of Bunnie XO’s Dumb Blonde podcast, where the couple discussed Savannah’s relationship, recent pregnancy announcement and their growing family.
The interview was recorded before Savannah, 29, publicly announced her engagement and pregnancy earlier this week.
Speaking about his daughter’s relationship with a man significantly older than her, Todd admitted he wasn’t immediately supportive.
“It was not something that I embraced,” Todd admitted, explaining that he eventually had to decide whether to accept the relationship or risk losing his daughter.
“It was either embrace my daughter’s decision, or lose my daughter,” he said. “Nothing is ever coming between me and my daughter.”
Despite his initial reservations, Todd acknowledged that Savannah’s fiancé has treated her “with the utmost respect.”
“But did I advocate for this? No,” he added.
Todd also revealed that Savannah’s fiancé approached him to ask for her hand in marriage. During their conversation, Todd offered a candid reminder about the couple’s age difference.
“I said, ‘You do understand that she may be the only love that you ever claim you’ve ever had, but you won’t be her only love.'”
Julie echoed her husband’s account, describing Todd as honest during the conversation.
Todd recalled an emotional discussion with his daughter that ultimately helped him understand her decision.
“She said, ‘I’d rather have 20 years of everything than 50 years of nothing,'” he shared.
He added that even if the relationship ended, he would still consider it a blessing because his daughter now knows how she deserves to be treated.
The reality star also shared that the couple regularly spends time with the family, revealing that they have dinner together nearly every night.
“I have a front-row seat to one of the greatest love stories that I’ve witnessed,” Todd said.

During the podcast, Todd and Julie also recalled the moment Savannah shared her pregnancy news.
Todd explained that Savannah had previously undergone treatment for endometriosis and later explored freezing her eggs because she was uncertain whether she would be able to conceive.
According to Todd, Savannah discovered she was pregnant while traveling with her fiancé and FaceTimed Julie to share the news.
“She said, ‘I want to tell you something, but I don’t want you to be mad,'” Todd recalled.
After reassuring his daughter that he wouldn’t be upset, Savannah revealed she was pregnant.
“And I just screamed,” Todd said.
The couple shared their excitement about welcoming another grandchild, with Todd adding, “I cannot wait to hold this baby.”
While Todd and Julie discussed their daughter’s relationship and pregnancy, Todd emphasized that some details should remain Savannah’s to share.
