I hope you’re ready to combat a Bears-less Sunday. If not, don’t worry. We’ve got you covered with a Bears fan’s guide to NFL Week 7. But before we settle in for Sunday shenanigans, I’m emptying my notebook so I can have a clean start to Week 8.
Caleb Williams is 4-3 against the 2024 NFL Draft class of quarterbacks. That is pretty impressive, considering he started 0-3. Here are the numbers: 132/219 (60.3%) 1,519 yards (6.9 yards/attempt) 5 TD (2.3 TD%) 0 INT (0.0 INT%) 88.8 passer rating 34 rushes 170 yards 2 TD Head-to-head records: 1-1 vs. Jayden Daniels, 1-1 vs. Drake Maye, 1-1 vs. J.J. McCarthy, 1-0 vs. Michael Penix Jr.; no games vs. Bo Nix … yet. FWIW: The numbers (106/165 (64.2%), 1,268 yards (7.7 Y/A), 5 TD (3.0 TD%), 0 INT (0.0 INT%), 97.7 passer rating) look better since Ben Johnson took over.FOLLOW US ON SOCIAL MEDIA: Facebook | Twitter | BlueSky

— New England Patriots (@Patriots) October 23, 2026 I missed watching Caleb throw missiles down the field while he was down with an injury. With all due respect to Case Keenum and Tyson Bagent, they can’t do what Williams does athletically, and it showed up in major moments while QB1 was on the sideline. Naturally, I enjoyed watching ESPN’s Ben Solak explain why throwing velo matters so much:Caleb Williams and why velocity matters so much t.co/caVVGQC4nt
— Benjamin Solak (@BenjaminSolak) October 23, 2026 Few things embody the new-look Bears than star players chipping in on special teams:Worth noting that Cole Kmet’s injury happened between the 53- and 58-yard FG attempts. He’s one of the wings. #Bears went to Colston Loveland to fill in on the game-winner. They’ve been lining up Joe Thuney to the overload side since Thuney insisted on being out there in Week 3. t.co/RoZGya6lgA
— Adam Hoge (@AdamHoge) October 23, 2026 Growing up as a Bears fan, I used to see Brian Urlacher and Charles “Peanut” Tillman making plays on special teams. Those guys loved ball. So seeing Colston Loveland and Joe Thuney get in on the action drives home how much this team plays for each other. This is the type of stuff I love seeing. It warms my football soul. Some love for Kyler Gordon and the Bears defense:.@ChicagoBears CB Kyler Gordon with four sacks in 17 pass-rushing snaps over the last two games. This is getting ridiculous. t.co/WgzfYUfSxy
— Doug Farrar ✍ (@NFL_DougFarrar) October 25, 2026Bears defense. Playing the WR screen — out of a pressure front. CB (Muhammad) sets the edge/cuts off the ball. S (Lewis) runs the alley. Pursuit from Slot CB (Gordon) and LB (Bush). t.co/KyjrsxzjGg
— Matt Bowen (@MattBowen41) October 24, 2026 Today is National Tight Ends Day. Colston Loveland got the festivities going on Thursday Night Football with a score. Meanwhile, Jordan Dajani (CBS Sports) has a wagering guide for those who want to bet on some touchdowns from the tight end position. ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports Peyton Manning is not expected to be a candidate for the Indianapolis Colts’ vacant general manager position. I’m not surprised to see Manning’s name floated as a target for the gig. After all, the Atlanta Falcons have laid out the blueprint for hiring a retired franchise icon to be the face of an organizational rebuild.BEARS TRADE TARGETS TO WATCH IN WEEK 7
NFL insiders Ian Rapoport and Mike Garafolo have the scoop on Chiefs left tackle Josh Simmons being told to leave a team meeting by Head Coach Andy Reid and quarterback Patrick Mahomes. This incident came before Simmons was placed on injured reserve. What a story! When will Lamar Jackson and Myles Garrett return to their respective teams? Jay Glazer has some updates. A Caleb Wilson 30-piece and a late rally weren’t enough for the Chicago Bulls to upend the Washington Wizards. As for United Center’s other tenants, the Chicago Blackhawks “need to take some hard looks in the mirror” after their most recent defeat. The Milwaukee Brewers continue making these incredibly wild playoff comebacks.More Bears From Bleacher Nation: Go Ad-Free | Subscribe to the BN Newsletter
