SwimOutlet Has a New App. Can It Make Buying Swim Gear Easier?

By SwimSwam Partner Content on SwimSwam

This is a review of SwimOutlet’s new app. Founded in 2000, SwimOutlet has grown into the leading online retailer dedicated to aquatics. Swimoutlet has also built swim-focused software and digital products, including Swim.com and this new shopping app. The launch reflects a sustained investment in technology, although SwimOutlet has not publicly disclosed enough data to rank that investment against the rest of the industry.  (SwimSwam is in an ongoing process of researching this area, tech development in dollars spent, industry-wide.)

The retailer’s new iPhone app puts team gear, suit sizing, repeat orders and SwimOutlet+ in one place. Its most useful promise is also the simplest: fewer wrong suits and fewer frantic orders before the first meet.

The start of a swim season has a particular kind of chaos. A coach sends a gear list. The old goggles are missing. The team suit no longer fits. Someone needs a cap before the meet this weekend.

SwimOutlet has launched a shopping app aimed squarely at those small, recurring headaches. The free app, published by Spiraledge, debuted on Apple’s App Store on September 17, 2026. It brings the retailer’s swimwear and equipment catalog to iPhone and iPad, with a dedicated team area, personalized recommendations, favorites, reordering, order tracking and returns.

The latest listed version at the time of this review is 1.4. Apple’s listing notes it requires iOS or iPadOS 16 or later.

    This is our first look!

The Team Store Is The Feature To Watch

The most compelling part of the app is My Teams.

In an App Store preview, a team page for the Vicenza Acqua Lions shows a selected team, coach notes, recommended items and team-branded suits. SwimOutlet describes this as a place to find the exact items a coach has chosen for the season.

Swim families do not just shop for a suit. They need the team suit, plus approved caps, warmups and training gear. Put that list in one place and you remove a familiar source of mistakes. Parents buying for swimmers on different teams may find the team selector especially useful.

There is an important distinction here. The preview shows a team shopping interface; it does not demonstrate that every club already has an active, current store or that every coach’s list is complete, however, many of USA Swimming’s 2,700+ club team already have a SwimOutlet store. So, families should check their club to confirm if they have a store (or review their club’s webpage to see if they have a team store). The quality of this feature will feel seamless if your team already has a Swimoutlet store.

Sizing May Be The Biggest Money Saver

SwimOutlet’s new app highlights a fit predictor. The app screenshot image (right) shows a tech suit, a What’s my size? flow and a size recommendation of 32. Anyone who has bought a racing suit for a growing swimmer knows why this matters. Suit sizing varies by brand and style, and a poor fit can turn a purchase into a return at exactly the wrong time.

It deserves a real-world test across bodies, brands and suit categories before anyone calls it accurate. A predicted size is a starting point, particularly for tech suits. Measure, read product guidance and check return terms before a costly or time-sensitive order.

    Reordering Is A Winner

SwimOutlet shoppers can save favorites and reorder in a tap. That sounds modest until you count the items a swim household buys over and over: goggles that break, fins a swimmer outgrows, practice suits that wear thin and the cap that vanished somewhere between the locker room and the car.

The app has quicker search and checkout, personalized recommendations, and order tracking and returns. Saved purchases make it easy to find the same goggles or team suit again, and that earns the app earns a place on a parent’s home screen.

    SwimOutlet+ And The Broader Catalog

The app promotes SwimOutlet+ member pricing. SwimOutlet’s website currently lists the membership at $4.99 annually, with exclusive pricing, rewards credit and shipping benefits subject to order thresholds.

The app also covers fitness, open water, swim lessons and recreational swimwear. A child shopping for first goggles may later need a team suit, fins and eventually a tech suit. A useful shopping history could follow that progression.

    Bottom-line

SwimOutlet has identified the right problem. Swim families make many repeat, deadline-driven purchases, and team-specific shopping plus a credible fit tool can save real time and money. The app’s early promise is strongest where it is most swimming-specific. Whether it earns a permanent spot on your phone depends on the less glamorous details: accurate team lists, dependable size advice, remembered preferences and a checkout that works when the meet is this Saturday. Download the app and decide for yourself.
