Gabby Hawver from Manassas, Virginia has announced her commitment to continue her academic and athletic careers at Arkansas beginning in fall 2027.
“I’m so excited to announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and swimming career at the University of Arkansas! I want to thank my family, friends, coaches and everyone else who has supported me throughout my journey! Go Razorbacks!”
Hawver swims for Nations Capital Swim Club and most recently swam at Richmond Sectionals in May. There she was 33rd in the 200 IM (2:29.31) and 62nd in the 100 free (1:01.69).
She had a strong meet at NCSAs back in March where she was highlighted by an 18th place finish in the 200 breast where she swam a lifetime best 2:15.88. She also swam to a lifetime best 51.20 in the 100 free for 27th.
Hawver’s Best SCY Times Are:
100 breast: 1:02.52 200 breast: 2:15.88 200 IM: 2:02.90The Arkansas women finished 11th out of 13 teams at the 2026 SEC Championships with 350 points. Diver Maria Jose Sanchez led the team with 74 individual points while swimmer Harriet Rogers scored 46 individual points.
Based on her best times, Hawver is not far off what it took to final at SECs in the breaststroke events as it took a 1:01.35 100 breast and a 2:12.62 to final in the 200 breast. Arkansas did not have any finalists in either event at SECs. Ellen Garritson led the team in both events this past season with a 1:01.64 100 breast and a 2:13.12 200 breast.
Hawver will arrive next fall as a member of the class of 2031. She is the first public commitment for the class.
