Marvel is giving Avengers: Endgame a re-release in cinemas next month ahead of the hotly-anticipated arrival of Avengers: Doomsday in December – and a new trailer and posters have just been made available.
The re-release – which is being titled Avengers Endgame: Encore – will be a slightly altered and extended version of the already epic film, including an exclusive look at Doomsday.
However, it's worth noting that the runtime has only been extended by four minutes – from 181 to 185 minutes – so fans shouldn't be expecting any radical changes to the record-breaking final chapter in the Infinity Saga.
You can watch the recut trailer below – which includes plenty of familiar scenes alongside a call to remember "One Cinematic Event" that "Brought the World Together" and footage of fans reacting to major moments in the cinema.
View oEmbed on the source websiteAccording to Disney, the film will also be available in Infinity Vision, which it describes as "a new certification for Premium Large Format (PLF) cinemas that guarantees moviegoers an exceptional film presentation with big screens, bright images and outstanding sound."
Meanwhile, four new posters have also been released – you can see one of them, which renders each of the main Avengers cast members as statues, below.
Of course Endgame – which brought to an end the 22-film Infinity Saga – was a monumental hit upon release, making more than $2.7 billion and briefly becoming the highest-grossing film of all time (it was later re-overtaken by Avatar).
The film was directed by Anthony and Joe Russo and picked up after the events of Avengers: Infinity War, which had seen half the world’s population wiped out by Thanos.
The remaining superheroes had to come together in a bid to restore order and harmony in the universe, leading up to an epic showdown against Thanos.
Many of the popular stars of that film – in addition to no shortage of new characters who have been introduced since – will be back in Doomsday, although crucially Iron Man star Robert Downey Jr will be playing a very different role as villain Doctor Doom.
Avengers Endgame: Encore will be released in cinemas on Friday 25 September 2026,
