Roland Manookian has reprised his Teddy Mitchell role in an unannounced return to EastEnders.
It's been an eventful week for his ex-wife Nicola (Laura Doddington), who has had to deal with her estranged family arriving on her doorstep.
Sisters Gemma and Jodie Hawkins (Patricia Potter and Anna Constable) were in quite the predicament, having kidnapped a man named Leo, who is in a relationship with Gemma's daughter Megan.
Nic was furious, but upon learning that Leo had been mistreating Megan, decided to teach him a lesson. The trio of siblings held him hostage at Harry's Barn, though were soon interrupted by their fearsome mother Rose (Marian McLoughlin).
When the newcomers made their way to The Queen Vic, George Knight (Colin Salmon) questioned why Nicola hadn't welcomed her clan with open arms. She didn't want to talk about it, though Teddy soon provided some answers...
He was calling from prison, where he's currently locked up after taking responsibility for a crime he didn't commit. Nicola had avoided his calls all day, though George decided to answer and hear him out.
Teddy knew that his ex would be struggling, as it was the anniversary of her dad's death. But he also stressed to George that he should try and dig deeper into her turmoil, as there was a lot that she still hadn't divulged.
George then made a breakthrough. Nicola showed a rare vulnerability and broke down in tears, admitting that prior to the car crash that had killed her dad, she'd found him attacking Rose.
When she threatened to summon Teddy to deal with the situation, he drunkenly got in his car and drove off. Rose warned her daughter that, should anything happen to him, she'd hold her personally responsible.
This has since led to years of resentment.
Later, in the pub, it became apparent that the relationship between Nicola and Rose was forever tarnished.
"I love you Nicola, and I always will," Rose uttered.
"I've tried to forgive you, but you've made it impossible. So next time your sisters want help, send them packing, won't you? Cos' I don't want to lose them too."
Nicola scoffed and looked horrified by her mum's words.
Will they ever be able to see eye-to-eye?
