After countless episodes of The Morning Show and that recent Smartwater ad campaign, Jennifer Aniston is returning to the big screen with a new Christmas movie, due out next year.
That bit may be old news for some, but Deadline just revealed that Regina Hall is now set to join her and the already-booked Peter Dinklage in the Universal film, cleverly titled Naughty.
Olivia Wilde is directing, following her recent hit The Invite and standout turn in I Want Your Sex earlier this year.
Per Deadline, Naughty follows Mallory (Aniston), whose only hope of securing custody of her son from her gaslighting trash-bag ex is to find Santa Claus (Dinklage) and convince him to testify in her divorce hearing. While unconfirmed, sources tell Deadline that Hall, 55, plays a friend joining Aniston, 57, on her trip to the North Pole.
Universal Pictures is set to release Naughty in theaters on November 5, 2027.
As movie buffs well know, Hall recently starred in Paul Thomas Anderson‘s Oscar-winning film One Battle After Another alongside Leonardo DiCaprio, Sean Penn and Benicio Del Toro. More recently, she co-starred in Peacock’s The Five-Star Weekend — which reportedly has become Peacock’s top scripted title of all time — and then reprised her role as Brenda Meeks in Scary Movie 6, the year’s top-grossing R-rated comedy, Deadline also noted on Wednesday, October 7.
The Five-Star Weekend Is a Hit — And Features the Hits
In 1994, the Cranberries scored a U.S. hit with “Dreams,” one of the songs that helped turn the Irish rock band into international stars. Cut to August of this year, and the song started climbing the charts again, thanks in part to Hall’s recent Peacock series.
Based on Elin Hilderbrand‘s 2023 novel of the same name, The Five-Star Weekend also stars Jennifer Garner as Hollis Shaw, a food influencer who brings together four friends from different periods of her life for a weekend on Nantucket following the death of her husband. Find out more here.
