It's been a pretty eventful start to the week for Nicola Mitchell (Laura Doddington) in EastEnders.
Several members of her family, who were revealed to be joining the Albert Square community last month, have made unannounced arrivals in today's (17 August) episode.
After declining a call from estranged husband Teddy (Roland Manookian) – who is currently living at His Majesty's Pleasure – Nic was looking forward to a peaceful day. But that wasn't meant to be.
In sped a car, crashing through some bins and into Elaine Peacock's (Harriet Thorpe) precious peacock bust. It's safe to say that she wasn't pleased to discover it smashed on the floor, and even more annoyed when the driver branded it a "turkey"!
Nicola raced over and identified the passengers as her sisters Gemma (Patricia Potter) and Jodie Hawkins (Anna Constable). She was furious that her siblings had turned up unannounced, and when Jodie demanded that she needed the toilet, told her to use The Queen Vic's washrooms rather than her own loo.
George Knight (Colin Salmon) heard the commotion and Nicola begrudgingly introduced him to Gemma, while Jodie ruffled feathers with pub landlady Kat Moon (Jessie Wallace) by requesting a tap water at the bar.
The sisters had found themselves in quite a predicament, and hoped Nicola could help. She refused to get caught up in their trouble, but upon finding a man, Leo, tied and bound in the boot of the car, was forced to get involved.
Gemma explained that her partner Ned Roper (Jamie Bamber) was away, and during his absence, had discovered that Leo was abusing her daughter Megan.
Megan wasn't part of the previously announced line-up, meaning that we'll probably meet her further down the line.
Despite Nic's reluctance, she asserted that nobody messes with her family and carted him off to her bar, Harry's Barn. Tied to a chair, she threatened him with a screwdriver and drove it into the leather seat he was tied to.
Meanwhile, across The Square, another new face knocked on No. 1's front door. George was met with a bunch of flowers and a cuddly toy, and Nicola's estranged mother Rose Hawkins (Marian McLoughlin).
She wanted to meet her granddaughter Ivy Knight-Mitchell, and also knew that it was high time for a catch-up with the rest of her family.
George escorted her to Harry's Barn, where the trio of Hawkins girls were holding Leo hostage.
