It’s set to be the region’s biggest tennis complex.
Designed by US architect Populous, it will have 30 tennis courts: 28 hard courts and two clay courts. It will seat 33,000.
Its centre court will host other events with seating for 15,000 and a retractable roof.
Centre court will be accompanied by an 8,000 seat arena court, plus 2,000 and 1,500 seat venues, six competition and match courts, six indoor courts and 14 practise courts.
The development will also contain a high performance training area, complete with gym, hydrotherapy and physiotherapy suites, athlete recovery spaces, players’ lounges and press areas.
Sections will also be dedicated to community tennis programmes, fan spaces and cultural areas.
The national tennis centre is designed to meet the standards of the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP), Women’s Tennis Association and International Tennis Federation.
Eno Polo, ATP’s chief executive, said: "The National Tennis Centre at Qiddiya City is a remarkable addition to the global tennis landscape.
“As the largest tennis facility of its kind in the region, it reflects a bold vision for the future of tennis and a commitment to creating more opportunities for people to engage with our sport.”
Already completed in Qiddiya City is Six Flags Qiddiya and the Aquarabia theme park, the Middle East’s largest water park. Under construction are the Prince Mohammed bin Salman Stadium, the world’s first dedicated Gaming & Esports District and the Qiddiya Performing Arts Centre.
Qiddiya City will also host a media district with studios, post-production facilities and training centres, designed to attract international filmmakers, streaming platforms and gaming developers.
