According to the Arizona Daily Star’s Bruce Pascoe, Garimella will have “exclusive authority” over performance and financial matters regarding Lloyd. This includes Lloyd’s job performance, compensation, operating and NIL roster budget.
Lloyd will report to Garimella and not athletic director Desiree Reed-Francois. Garimella will evaluate Lloyd and will collaborate with Reed-Francois and Arizona CFO John Arnold.

Lloyd’s new contract differs from the previous one he agreed to in April 2025, under which he reported to the athletic director, with oversight by the university president.
Pascoe added that the language in the contract indicates that Garimella will oversee the “university-paid revenue-sharing money” it will give to the players, as well as the NIL funds the university can raise, which represents a roster budget.
The Arizona Board of Regents unanimously approved the amended contract extension of Lloyd on April 16. The extension will be a five-year deal and will end on March 31, 2031.
