WASHINGTON — House members approved a short-term funding bill for the Department of Homeland Security Friday night.

The bill passed 213-203 and, unlike the Senate-approved legislation that was rejected by House Republicans, would fund all of DHS, including ICE and Border Patrol through May 22.
Despite the bill advancing, there is still no end in sight to the partial government shutdown. Senate Democrats have consistently vowed to block funding for ICE and CBP.
A GOP aide told NBC News that Senate Majority Leader John Thune has no plans to recall senators from Easter recess. The aide said there’s really no realistic way to pass the House bill in the chamber.
