The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is all set to host its annual NAMAN Awards on March 15 in New Delhi. Among the awardees are India’s Test and ODI captain Shubman Gill, former head coach Rahul Dravid, as per reports. This comes after a report had previously stated that the BCCI is planning to honour members of the Indian team who were a part of the 5 ICC trophy victories – Champions Trophy in 2025, ICC Women’s World Cup in 2025, U19 World Cup in 2025, U19 Women’s World Cup in 2025, and T20 World Cup in 2026.
Gill, Dravid to be honoured
As per The Indian Express, Gill is set to receive the Cricketer of the Year award from the BCCI on March 15. The Punjab batter has seen a steep ascent in the last year after taking over the reins from Rohit Sharma in Tests and ODIs. As a batter, he has been phenomenal in the longest format of the game and ODIs and not so mucn in T20Is. Gill is, however, yet to win an ICC trophy as India captain.
Former India head coach Rahul Dravid, who led the team to victory in the T20 World Cup 2024, is set to get the Col CK Nayudu Lifetime Achievement Award. The report states that Mumbai’s Ayush Mhate will be given the Lala Amarnath Award for the best all-rounder in domestic limited-overs cricket. Further, the report states that former India women’s captain Mithali Raj is also set to get a lifetime award, with the BCCI contemplating it. Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) is set to be honoured as the best association in domestic cricket, as per the report.
The ceremony will recognise India’s superb success across global tournaments in the past year. Apart from the men’s T20 World Cup 2026 winners, the 2025 Champions Trophy-winning squad will also be invited, along with the senior women’s team and India’s Under-19 boys’ and girls’ sides that lifted ICC trophies in 2025.
