Keiser University won their second consecutive NAIA Swimming & Diving National Championships – and their seventh in the last eight years – last weekend in Elkhart, Indiana, with 675 points, finishing 278 points ahead of second-place University of the Cumberlands.

    The Seahawks scored:

    388 individual swimming points 216 relay points 71 diving points

    Keiser won 5 individual swimming events, 4 relays, and both diving events. Isaiah Aleksenko won three individual national titles and was named the NAIA Swimmer of the Year, while Noel de Geus earned the NAIA Swim of the Meet accolades for his performance in the 100 breast. Adrian Avilan took home the NAIA Diver of the Year award after winning both diving events. Head coach Adam Epstein was named the NAIA Coach of the Year for the sixth time.

    Jet Fuhrmann, Noel de Geus, Isaiah Aleksenko, Hanno Boeckmann set the tone for the Seahawks on Day 1, winning the 200 medley relay to jump to the top of the leaderboard. Freshman Adrian Avilan followed with a gold in 3-meter diving.

    On Day 2 Aleksenko won the first of his 3 individual events with a NAIA record in the 200 IM. He teamed with de Geus, Boeckmann, and Fuhrmann to break the national record in the 200 free relay later in the session.

    Aleksenko broke another record on Day 3, winning the 100 fly with a new NAIA mark. De Geus won the 100 breast with the Swim of the Meet of 52.18, while Avilan scored his second diving gold on the 1-meter board. Aleksenko, de Geus, Dawid Malik, and Boeckmann closed the night with another NAIA record, this time in the 400 medley relay.

    The Seahawks wrapped up the meet on Day 4 with a 200 breast win from de Geus, Aleksenko’s 3rd individual title in the 200 fly, and another NAIA relay record – this time in the 400 free relay – from Trinidad, Aleksenko, Malik, and Boeckmann.
