PENFIELD, N.Y. — Firefighters responding to a fire on Shoecraft Road early Sunday morning had the blaze under control within around 20 minutes.
West Webster firefighters were dispatched to the home — in the furthest portion of their fire district — at 4:30 a.m. for a reported house on fire. At 4:35 a.m. they arrived to find “heavy fire” on the north side of the building, according to Fire Chief Glen Moorhouse. According to the chief, multiple attack lines were deployed and water was on the fire at 4:43 a.m., with the fire brought under control at around 4:54 a.m.
There were no residents or pets in the residence at the time, and no injuries were reported to civilians or responders.
Webster, Irondequoit, Penfield and Brighton firefighters assisted at the scene.
The Monroe County Fire Bureau is investigating the fire.
