Alvarado pushed Williams, who was trying to set a screen, and was upset at an official for calling the foul before he turned back to Williams, who had pushed off of the contact, and engaged.
Williams pushed Alvarado off as he stayed close, with both throwing punches in the moments that followed.

Both players were ejected after a review of the incident, with Williams finishing with 10 points and eight rebounds in 11 minutes and Alvarado totaling seven points, three assists and two steals in his 14 minutes.
Williams had come off the bench in a game that was his first instance of playing both of a back-to-back this season. The suspension will keep him out of Monday’s game at the Washington Wizards.
Alvarado’s plus-minus for the game of +3 ended up as a team high, as Phoenix held on for the win.
The suspensions were announced by former Suns president of basketball operations James Jones, who now heads basketball ops for the NBA office.
