The second-year wide receiver missed the team’s first game against the Green Bay Packers, then was a last-second scratch from the lineup for Sunday’s win over the Cleveland Browns after he re-aggravated his foot injury during pregame warmups.
Burden would have also missed the practice after he injured his ankle during the Sunday win over Cleveland. Burden has seen his usage go up during the second half of the season, and he was targeted a season-high seven times in the game Sunday, with six catches for 84 yards before exiting in the third quarter.
If Odunze and Burden can’t play, D.J. Moore could once again be a big focal point of the offense, along with Olamide Zaccheaus and tight end Colston Loveland.
The Bears’ offense is also operating with a limited Cole Kmet, who also briefly exited Sunday’s game with ankle and knee injuries. If he is limited or out of action Sunday, Loveland would figure to feature even more prominently in Ben Johnson’s offense.
Defensive lineman Andrew Billings was out of action due to illness Tuesday, and linebacker Amen Ogbongbemiga wouldn’t have practiced with a hamstring injury.
Linebacker Tremaine Edmunds, whose 21-day practice window opened this week as he works his way back from a groin injury that landed him on injured reserve, would have been a limited participant.
Finally, running back Travis Homer would have been limited with an ankle injury.
The Bears will have two more injury reports this week ahead of Saturday’s game, which will kickoff at 7:20 p.m. on Fox.
