Well, this isn’t ideal.
At today’s pregame press conference, Bulls Head Coach Billy Donovan announced that rookie forward Noa Essengue will miss the rest of the season due to season-ending shoulder surgery.

It’s a tough break for the Bulls’ rookie forward for sure. The 2025 first-round draft pick hadn’t gotten much time on the floor this season, but was taken as a developmental project with high upside, so not much was expected out of him this year.
Having said that, while he wasn’t going to make a massive impact on the floor this season in all likelihood, this certainly will affect his developmental track in his rookie campaign.
It’s for sure an unfortunate break for the 18-year-old forward, but it doesn’t have to be a total disaster. Hopefully he can take the rest of this season to learn and grow by observing, and be mentally ready next season to take on a bit of a bigger role.
We’ll have a little more on this story tomorrow, but a really unfortunate break for the Bulls.
