Jordan Pickford has been the undisputed England No. 1 for a long time, but where does he rank among the all-time greats.
Former Premier League striker Tony Cascarino believes he is the fifth greatest to wear the Three Lions goalkeeper shirt.
Only Peter Shilton has won more England caps (125) than Everton’s Pickford (79).
He is fast approaching the top 20 in history and is just 21 games away from being just the 11th man in to make 100 or more appearances.
Pickford recently broke Gordon Banks’ record by making his eighth consecutive clean sheet in the 3-0 win over Wales.
It marked more than a year without conceding a goal for his country.
His position as England’s goalkeeper going into the next World Cup is beyond doubt, yet he often is not spoken about among the greats.
Cascarino told Weekend Sports Breakfast: “There isn’t even really a debate. The closest I think to him is Dean Henderson and unless something dramatic happens and a terrible run of form with either England in friendlies or in club football, but even then, Jordan’s as much as the number one as Harry Kane.”
Pickford has played in two major finals for England and will be targeting another next summer in the USA.
Cascarino added: “I think in his early days, he always looked a bit rash. He’d make really crazy decisions at times and you’d think, he’s taking chances there.
” I think he’s eased back from that where the other goalkeepers were very solid.”

So where does he rank among the all-time greats? Cascarino named four others above him.

“His career hasn’t ended. So he’s got 79 caps at the moment and he’s played exceptionally well. The longer he’s been in the England shirt, he’s got better.
“There’s no denying that Pickford’s been outstanding for England from the Euros to the World Cups and he doesn’t really have a number one contender to take his spot.
“Now, if you put it in the pantheon of great goalkeepers, where would I put Jordan? Probably fifth of all the England keepers I’ve witnessed.
“You’ve got Gordon Banks, Peter Shilton, David Seaman and Ray Clemence. Now, some might be surprised at Ray Clemence.
“If I go Gordon Banks first, who, by the way, had got 70-odd caps and he had a terrible eye injury, 300 stitches in his face, eye, retina when he lost his eye.

“Gordon Banks was an unbelievable goalkeeper for his size. Now, I was a very young boy when I saw Gordon Banks. But if you look at footage and what he achieved as being a World Cup winner with England as well.
“He was an amazing keeper. I think it would be very hard to put him above Gordon Banks.
“Peter Shilton, probably the best with the 125 caps because Shilton was nearly unbeatable at times.

“To this day, I don’t know how he saved it. It stuck with me forever because people will talk about things happening in your career. It was a header that I literally pinged in the bottom corner from nowhere. Shilton turned it around the post.
“David Seaman, absolute commanding presence, great goalkeeper. I say only because he got 70-odd caps. He was mid-70s in his caps and never won the big thing. But David was an amazing keeper for England and for Arsenal.
“The one that probably most people would disagree with is Ray Clemence. Ray Clemence was the guy that took over really from Gordon Banks when he had the eye injury.
“He got 60-odd caps and was dislodged by Peter Shilton eventually. But they were like two number ones, Ray Clemence and Peter Shilton. They were both that good.
“Shilton was just above, but Ray Clemence was an extraordinary keeper.”
England face Lativa on Tuesday in their next World Cup qualifer with Pickford likely to add to his appearance tally.
