A construction crane toppled over Wednesday near Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu, causing non-life-threatening injuries to the operator.
The mishap, which was characterized as “an industrial accident,” was reported about 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at a construction site on the 31300 block of Broad Beach Road, according to a watch commander at the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Malibu-Lost Hills station.
The operator of the machine sustained a leg injury, the watch commander said, but he did not have an update on the victim’s condition.
Deputies closed off the block where the crane fell, and motorists were advised to avoid the area.
