Frederic Vosgrone is embracing his parallels to MMA’s elite ahead of his return at Oktagon 76.
The 29-year-old German, who went viral for his persistence in dragging Jorick Montagnac to the canvas on his Oktagon debut in May, has received widespread comparisons to UFC‘s past and present stars, such as Brock Lesnar, Dricus du Plessis, and Paddy Pimblett, ahead of his fifth professional fight.

“Many years ago, when I competed on the UK grappling scene, I remember Paddy Pimblett posting a picture of me on Instagram because people messaged him saying that I looked like him.
“But that was before he had his breakthrough… Obviously, it’s great to be named in the same sentence as one of the biggest stars now.
“And Brock Lesnar, too. I remember in Brazil when I was training there as a purple belt, many years ago they would always call me Brock Lesnar. It’s a pretty cool comparison.
“Brock Lesnar is much scarier than Paddy Pimblett, so I’ll stick with Brock Lesnar.”
Vosgrone, a natural grappler in the cage, started his MMA career at Levels Fight League and We Love MMA before signing with Oktagon in 2025.
He has finished all four of his pro bouts via submission inside the distance.

Through a victory at Oktagon 76 on Saturday night, Vosgrone is aiming to broaden his exposure in the MMA world, especially in the UK.

Before bursting onto the European scene, Vosgrone spent time living in Hammersmith, London, where he taught grappling after getting a sponsorship in Jiu-Jitsu.

“I lived in England for five years, and I started my MMA training in England,” Vosgrone added in a message to UK fans.
“I did my first fight fighting out of England, so I feel like I’m one of you guys.
“Obviously, now in Germany, there are a lot of great things happening in MMA.”

A win in Frankfurt would cement Vosgrone’s status as one of the biggest stars in the promotion, alongside Irish two-weight champion Will Fleury.
