ROCHESTER, N.Y. — It’s the countdown until the annual Rochester Half Marathon and 5K. The races will take place on Sunday, Sept. 21, starting at Maplewood Park and ending at Innovative Field. There will also be a kids’ half-mile run. Here’s what to know about road closures and signing up.

Runners will gather by the tennis courts at Maplewood Park for the start of the race. The half-marathon starts at 7:30 a.m. and the 5K starts at 7:40 a.m. The kids half-mile will start at High Falls at 10:30 a.m. The courses close at 11 a.m.
Here are the costs for each race:
Half marathon: $112.30
5k: $50.82
Kids half-mile: $19.02
People can register until 3:45 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 20. Visit their site here to signup.
The band “The Uptown Groove,” will be performing live at Innovative Field during the race from 8:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. The band plays a variety of R&B, Funk/Soul, Disco, Motown, Rock and current top 40 Pop/Rock.
There will also be a “Kids Fun Zone,” featuring games and bounce houses from 7:30 a.m. to 11 a.m, and treats, including post race pizza from Tops Friendly Market.
Where to park
Participants can park for free at Innovative Field. One parking lot is next to MCC between Plymouth and State Street and the other is on the Verona Street side, where you enter through Brown Street or Oak Street.
Free shuttles will be offered that will take people from Innovative Field to the start line starting at 5:30 a.m. and ending at 7 a.m. The shuttles will be at the corner of Morrie Silver Way and Verona Street. The shuttle is only for people registered in the race, and you must show your bib to get on. Learn more here.
