We want to thank all of our readers who donated to this year’s UDJ Boys and Girls Club Spring Fund Drive.
You raised $52,860, well over our goal of $45,000 and we are very grateful for all your generous donations.
The Boys and Girls Club of Ukiah is a critical local service helping local kids have a place to go which is safe and fun so they don’t need to be home alone if their parents work. Right now families are getting ready for their children to go back to school and the Boys and Girls Club will be there in the hours after school to help them with homework, give them healthy snacks and supervise their games and socializing with friends. As always, during the summer these kids also had a place to go which keeps them off the streets with nothing to do or home alone watching endless TV.
Kids love the Club and we even have local Club counselors who were Club members as kids themselves.
We appreciate your giving to this worthy cause year after year and we know the folks at the Club are very grateful too. This is a truly local effort to help a truly local need. What’s better than that?
