On the morning of July 4, 19-year-old Rahma Ayat was fatally stabbed in the stairwell of her apartment building in Arnum, south of Hanover, Germany. According to media reports, Rahma was found with several stab wounds to her chest and shoulder and died shortly after emergency services arrived. A 31-year-old German man, who lived in the same building, was arrested later that day. While the suspect remains in custody, no official charges have been made, and the motive has not yet been confirmed.
