From Bayern Munich to the Premier League, and now playing on the south coast of France with Marseille, Pierre-Emile Højbjerg takes us through his football career to date.
When Pierre-Emile Højbjerg made his debut for Bayern Munich he, at the time, became the youngest ever player to appear in a Bundesliga game for the German club.
Now on the verge of turning 30, the Dane’s career has taken him from battling week-in, week-out in the Premier League to trying to help Marseille back to the summit in Ligue 1.
In an exclusive interview with Opta Analyst’s Jordan Collins, Højbjerg reflects on his career so far, starting with the challenges of playing for a European giant at a young age and how it has shaped much of his focus moving forward during his career.
The midfielder also spoke on how his move to the Premier League with Southampton came about, his love of playing in the English top-flight and how the first seeds of his move to Tottenham Hotspur were planted thanks to a chance encounter.
And having completed a permanent move to Marseille after a season-long loan to the south coast of France, Højbjerg looks to his future and what his current team need to do if they are to challenge PSG’s dominance.
