(KRON) -- BART experienced a temporary disruption Friday morning in the East Bay. All service was stopped at the West Oakland station due to a fire near the trackway, officials said. Service resumed around 6:53 a.m.
“BART service has stopped at West Oakland in all directions due to a fire affecting the trackway near West Oakland station,” BART wrote in a service advisory at 6:36 a.m.
In an update, BART officials said the Oakland Fire Department responded and extinguished the flames. Track inspections were completed before regular service resumed, according to the transit district.
