Christopher Abbott is loving parenthood. The 40-year-old actor sat down for an interview with Rolling Stone and briefly commented on what it feels like after welcoming his first child, daughter, with partner Aubrey Plaza, in July.
“I don’t like to talk too much about like, personal family stuff, but it’s just…it’s like the best movie ever,” he gushed in a video released on Rolling Stone‘s X account on Oct. 23.

Abbott’s latest words about fatherhood come just over two months since news broke about the birth of his baby girl after Plaza, 42, was photographed with the newborn on Aug. 9, while supporting him at his final Broadway performance in Death of a Salesman in New York City. PEOPLE first confirmed the couple was expecting back in April.
Before his recent Rolling Stone interview, Abbott made a rare comment about being a dad for the first time during his appearance on the Oct. 1 episode of the Happy Sad Confused podcast.
“When you really reflect on it like that, I got to put Dad first,” the East of Eden star said after being asked to rank his accomplishments.
“Then Knicks,” he joked. “Just because I’ve been waiting. I’ve been a Knicks fan my whole life.”Plaza also commented about becoming a mom on a bonus episode of the Smartless podcast on April 13.
“I’ve always wanted to see what that’s all about, you know?” the actress said. “It just seems so interesting, that whole thing.”
