A midweek cool down is on tap for the region, as temperatures take a slow dip from Wednesday through Friday, according to the National Weather Service.
Coastal areas will continue to see night and morning low clouds spreading into inland valleys, although those clouds will become patchier and less widespread by the weekend as the marine layer shrinks.
High temperatures Wednesday are expected to reach 70 to 73 near the coast, 75 to 79 inland, 77 to 81 in the western valleys, 85 to 90 near the foothills, 86 to 96 in the mountains and 106 to 110 in the deserts, the NWS said.
A ridge of high pressure building to the south is expected to bring about a 5-degree warm-up for the weekend.
A return to slow cooling is forecast for early next week, according to the weather agency.
